DIYZ.com recently went through a well needed website refresh. I worked to bring the website a new and clean look by working through the UX wireframes and the graphic design. The team wished to focus on the main DIYZ app features and bring in large eye catching photography and graphics. I then handed off the designs to a web coding firm who brought the design to life.
This beer logo was designed to represent DuClaw Brewing Co.'s new Dry Hopped Sour beer. The beer has a tart and fruity flavor and is very different than anything they've brewed before. I wanted to pull from old print designs and fonts that gave it a poster and old sign feel.
This poster was developed after many different sketches and trial and error. It is meant to evoke the feeling of a 1960's music poster, highlighting the idea that Funk is a summer beer meant to be drunk at festivals.
Quick Start My Heart
Quick Start My Heart was presented to me as needing the feeling of Strawberry Quik and Rock n' Roll. I took these two very contradicting directions and brought them together under a strong and angled logo. I wanted the strawberry to be the focus but not feel "cute". I used the Motley Crue "u" style to give a nod to them and "Kick Start My Heart" and different variations of red and black to make the label bright and eye catching.
Colossus "Building the Beast" Website
The Colossus website was used to showcase the making of DuClaw Brewing Co.'s 17% ABV beer, through images and video. I collaborated with DuClaw's web developer taking on the responsibility of Art Director and Designer, helping with directing the imagery and making sure there was a nice flow.
Vote Your Mind Posters
The Vote Your Mind campaign was created to push people to vote for themselves and not be influenced by friends and family around them. It is supposed to be raw and eye catching reminding people that they can have any feeling towards politics as long as it is their own.
El Kabong is an Apricot Chile Beer. The beer was named after the 60's cartoon, Quick Draw McGraw and his alter ego El Kabong. In the show El Kabong hits bad guys over the head with a guitar. The design was created with a cartoon feel, brining in bright colors and exaggerated explosions and a playful font combination. I added in the mask that El Kabong wears and the guitar in the background to give nods to the show.
The 62 Imperial Pumpkin Ale packaging was one of my favorite designs to work on. I decided to incorporate the feel and classic look of bourbon labels with illustrations of the ingredients in the beer. I added in paragraphs of copy in the background as a texture as well as descriptions of “62” and the orginal beer it derived from, “31”. I went through many different sketches and elaborate versions, but finally decided on a simplified design that brings in the feel and textures of fall.
These bottles were created for DuClaw Brewing Co. for distributors across the country. It focused on DuClaw's year round beers that were created in Cinema 4D.
Three Little Pigs Animation
This animation was created in cut paper style in After Effects for an education company while working with Big Yellow Taxi. In the animation, each child gets to choose their own ending to the Three Little Pigs story.
The Three Little Pigs
The International Youth Foundation puts out a yearly Youth Magazine, shown are two different spreads that I created for the magazine, one with youthful colors and photography and the second focusing on info graphics and communicating important information.
This short animation features a broken helicopter that realizes that he can change into a submarine and start fresh. It was created with cut out paper and After Effects.
